Funding available for sustainability projects on ejidos in northern Mexico

In 2023, the Biophilia Foundation launched a project to support the ecological and social sustainability of life on ejidos in northern Mexico. This initiative will continue in 2024.

Grants of $5,000 to $10,000 are available to non-profit and community-based organizations for projects that employ a “people and nature” approach.

Examples of eligible projects include but are not limited to:

  • Changes to grazing management practices (e.g., introduction of rotational grazing)
  • Workshops, training, and technical assistance
  • Development of producer-producer or producer-consumer networks
  • Dryland permaculture
  • New approaches to participatory decision-making and governance that affect wildlife
